Roberto Soldado’s first season in England turned out to be an epic disaster.

But every Spurs fan lives in hope that he put all that behind him and live up to his £26million price tag this season. And while he’s been in training this pre-season he’s been able to get some goalscoring tips from some of his teammates.

But an unlikely ‘tutor’ showed the Spaniard exactly how it’s done with an absolute screamer during training in the States yesterday.

Michael Dawson, who has been told by Mauricio Pochettino that he is free to leave the club, spanked in a first time effort with superb precision to hopefully make Soldado (and his gaffer) stand up and take note…

Perhaps they should play Dawson up front next season?

Dont know where you got that from mate. Worst signing ever from THFC. I want him to leave and never come back.

And to counteract …. I hope he stays.
You don’t forget how to score just because you’re in a new team.
You do have to adjust your play a little, learn about your new team mates and get decent service. All this takes time.

Soldado has already proved in 2 pre-season games his value to the team. Against Toronto he set up Lamela for both his goals with quick passing. I am fed up of hearing that he only scores penalties. Look at how many where missed at the WC recently. He will score plenty and set up plenty this season

I wonder if those who keep calling Soldado a ”flop” noted his contribution to Lamela’s goals against Toronto. I do not know the reason behind his bad season, it could have been many things, but if he plays as he did yesterday his contribution up front will be immense. He is a quality striker and has proved it time and time again, he will come good.
