Arjen Robben’s abilities are well known to English football fans, who witnessed the Dutchman produce top displays during his time with Chelsea, where he lifted five domestic trophies.
Since then, the one-footed winger has played for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, and also featured for the Netherlands in a World Cup final back in 2010.
Robben is considered to be one of the best wingers in the world, as his pace, dribbling and shooting make him virtually unplayable against any opposition.
The 29-year-old still has a few years left in him, and a recent spat with team-mate Frank Ribery has left him out of favour at current club Bayern Munich.
Robben would be an ideal replacement for Bale in terms of the quality he would bring to the Tottenham starting XI, but his wages and knack of being a bit of a diva may become an issue.
