Tottenham could make a fresh January move for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

Spurs were heavily linked with the Spain U-21 ace over the summer, with some rumours suggesting that he was close to being a part of the deal that took Gareth Bale to the Bernabeu.

However, Los Blancos chief Carlo Anceloti opted against letting the youngster leave, with a lack of cover for Karim Benzema a worry for the Italian.

However, the ex-Chelsea boss is ready to alter his stance next month, which has alerted the London club.

Ancelotti has been impressed by the emergence of another one of his starlets Jese Rodriguez, and could use that to allow Morata to leave for regular action at the highest level between now and the end of the season.

Spurs have a working relationship with Real, which should see the White Hart Lane club move ahead of the likes of Arsenal to snap up the 21-year-old.

The managerless Lilywhites have struggled in front of goal this season, with only 15 efforts from having found the back of the net.
