Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has claimed that he is happy to let some of his squad players leave in order for them to get first team football, as reported by Daily Mirror.

Sherwood is happy to trim his squad in order to find some consistency in team selection that previous boss Andre Villas-Boas couldn’t find.

Reports this week have linked numerous Spurs players with the exit door including Lewis Holtby, Etienne Capoue and Erik Lamela, with striker Jermain Defoe already confirmed to be leaving for the MLS and Toronto in March.

With the World Cup coming up in six months’ time, Sherwood appreciates that all his international stars will want to play and if they are not part of his first team plans then they can leave.

“We’ve had discussions, yes, but it’s sometimes a case of supply and demand. We’ve got fantastic players here at the club and if we were to lose no-one I wouldn’t be shedding any tears” Sherwood said.

“As long as they’re the right players and the ones that I don’t want to take us forwards, then I’m happy,”

“You can only go with a certain amount of players, obviously the pressure’s on because it’s a World Cup year for a lot of these players.

“It’s important that they’re playing. We can’t guarantee that they’re going to get maximum game time, but we certainly won’t be leaving ourselves short. If no-one left I wouldn’t be shedding any tears over that either.”

These people who have written so far support Tottenham but know little about football/AVB or watching Tottenham either home or away
