Tottenham are considering a move for AC Milan’s Valter Birsa, with reports from The Metro indicating that they’ve been offered the Slovenian for just £4m.

The 27-year-old has only been at the San Siro for one season, but the Serie A giants are ready to cut him loose after he failed to force his way into their starting XI on a consistent basis.

New manager Filippo Inzaghi has also shown little indication that he wants to hand the player a fresh chance.

Birsa’s agent has been touting his client around to top European clubs, and Spurs are understood to be interested.

The versatile attacker can play on either flank or in an attacking midfield role, which is believed to be appealing to Mauricio Pochettino.

Birsa has spent the majority of his career in France and Italy, where his performances have been enough to earn him 66 caps for his nation.

He starred for Slovenia against England in the 2010 World Cup – a game the Three Lions won 1-0 via a goal then Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe.
