Joao MoutinhoHigh-rollers Paris Saint-Germain look set to rival Tottenham Hotspur when it comes to landing Portuguese midfielder Joao Moutinho, according to Talksport.

Andre Villas-Boas has been a long-time admirer of his fellow country man and even thought he’d landed his man back in the Summer, only for the £22million transfer to breakdown.

Spurs were also heavily linked with the midfielder’s signature in January however at that time Tottenham decided that buying a striker would be the clubs priority. Tottenham were yet again left with transfer window frustrations however as their bid for Brazilian striker Damaio was rejected in the eleventh hour.

It now looks as though any impending summer bid for Moutinho could be blown out of the water, as PSG enter the market with their infinite budgets and attractive location.

PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti is a big admirer of the play-maker and will have no problem finding the cash to launch a big money raid, and a big money raid it will have to be as Moutinho has a contract at Porto till June 2015.

News of the French giants interest may force Andre Villas-Boas into looking elsewhere for squad improvements, however if Spurs are to continue going forward as a club both on and off the pitch they may have to find some big money of their own.
