Tottenham are plotting a move to snap up Inter Milan’s Esteban Cambiasso on a free transfer, according to reports from The Mirror.

The 33-year-old midfielder is set to leave the San Siro in the coming weeks when his contract expires, and it is understood that Spurs are showing an interest.

Cambiasso – an Argentina international – possesses a wealth of experience, and is thought to be a top target for Lilywhites chief Mauricio Pochettino.

The veteran playmaker has the experience he craves, and is available for nothing with Inter having failed to reach an agreement to keep him in Milan.

Etienne Capoue is one name being linked with a move away from White Hart Lane after 12 disappointing months as a Spurs player.
