Tottenham are plotting to move for Newcastle’s Tim Krul if they lose Hugo Lloris this summer, according to reports from The Metro.

The France international goalkeeper is expected to leave White Hart Lane in the coming months in search of Champions League football after just two seasons in north London.

PSG and Monaco are keen to lure him back to his homeland, and Spurs are aware that they will need to replace him should they be unable to convince him to stay put.

Krul is seen as the best option to fill the potential void on the back of his excellent displays for Newcastle in recent times.

The Dutchman has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best stoppers with the Magpies and is believed to be valued at around £10m.

Although he has been with the Tynesiders since he was a teenager, Krul is understood to be ready to move on in a bid to force his way back into Holland’s international squad after missing out on a trip to the World Cup.

Tottenham could appeal to the 26-year-old due to their involvement in European competition.
