Tottenham Hotspur offer star big money deal
Tottenham are ready to break the bank in order to prevent Gareth Bale from leaving White Hart Lane this summer.
Tottenham are hoping to keep Bale with the lure of a new contract worth £40million to fend off the European clubs chasing the star and a new contract will be offered at the end of the season, based on whether or not they qualify for the Champions League.
The 23-year-old Welshman has been in impeccable form this year and is the most talked about player in the last few weeks. The winger has recently switched to a striker’s role and has excelled in the position scoring 10 goals in 9 games and 20 overall this season.
He signed a new contract in the summer worth £75,000 a week, which will keep him at the club until 2016. Villas-Boas feels it is time to reward his most valuable player and will offer a new and improved deal in the summer, which will see his weekly wages double to £150k, according to The Daily Mail.
With clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City all chasing the highly rated forward with big cash offers, Daniel Levy is going to have to do all it will take to keep Bale at the club.
Bale has been valued at £60million by Levy and he would be unwilling to let him leave for any less than that. Despite having a system in place, where a player’s wages do not exceed 70 per cent of Tottenham’s turnover, he would be willing to put the extra money made from commercial revenue and Champions League qualification towards his deal.
Even though he has previously spoke about his desire to play for Real Madrid, qualification for Europe could be the one thing that could convince the talented youngster to stay in North London.
