Tottenham have joined the Premier League battle for Ecuadorian World Cup hit-man Enner Valencia, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The 24-year-old forward struck three goals in three games for the South Americans as they slipped out at the group stage.

But despite the disappointment of elimination, Valencia himself looks to have profited from his showings.

The winger turned striker currently plies his trade in Mexico with Pachuca, but he looks set for a big switch across the Atlantic Ocean to Europe, with a host of top clubs chasing him.

Newcastle, Stoke, Everton and West Ham have all been linked with him, and now Spurs are also in the battle.

Mauricio Pochettino is known to be on the lookout for a goal-getter to kick-start his reign at White Hart Lane, and although Romelu Lukaku is his top choice, Valencia is a tempting option.

Interest from teams on the continent is high, with Fiorentina Sporting Lisbon, Sevilla and Valencia keen, but the wages on offer in the Premier League could be a big factor.

The powerful front-man netted 18 goals in 23 games for Pachuca last term, and could follow in the footsteps of Jackson Martinez, who played in Mexico before heading to Porto.
