Chievo goalkeeper Marco SilvestriTottenham are preparing a summer move for Chievo goalkeeper Marco Silvestri, according to reports from talkSPORT.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas already has a number of stoppers at his disposal, but is believed to be keen on the 21-year-old as he prepares for the possibility of Champions League and Premier League football next season.

Summer arrival Hugo Lloris has taken the spot between the sticks at White Hart Lane lately, dislodging Brad Friedel in the process.

Although The American is a more than able back-up, at 42-years-of-age there are doubts as to whether he has the stamina to compete at the highest level for much longer.

As a result, Villas-Boas is thought to be looking to draft in a younger alternative, with Silvestri his preferred option.

The Italian U-21 international in currently away from Chievo on loan with Padova, and has been impressive in Serie B.

Despite playing in the second-tier, Silvestri is thought of as one of the top young goalkeepers in his homeland, and is tipped to have a big future.

Due to this, AVB is hopeful that he can lure the player to London at an early stage of his career, and look to help build his talents.

It’s unclear as to whether Chievo will be willing to sell, but Silvestri may jump at the chance at a move to the Premier League.
