Tottenham Set To Offer bumper deal
Tottenham Hotspur are set to offer star man Gareth Bale a record wage to keep him in North London next season according to the Evening Standard.
Bale has been on scintillating form this season for Spurs and is currently being touted as one of the best players in the world.
Real Madrid are set to make a summer bid for the Welsh winger who could cost the Spanish champions upwards of £50million.
However, Andre Villas-Boas is desperate to keep his best players after losing both Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart at the start of the season and Spurs will offer Bale a record breaking £130k-per-week in a new contract offer.
The 23-year-old is still under contract until 2016 at White Hart Lane but the chance to play for Real Madrid may be enough for the player to force through a summer move.
Qualification for the Champions League may well be an incentive for Bale to stay at Spurs and they can virtually secure that with a win over rivals Arsenal today.
