Broadcasters seem to be having a real issue with getting their facts straight at the moment.

Only last week the BBC declared Roy Hodgson to be the Premier League’s all time leading goalscorer during his appearance on Match of the Day, and now Sky Sports have declared Spurs took on Tottenham in the Premier League last weekend.

Maybe the introduction of BT Sport has sent Sky and the BBC into a frenzied panic where they can’t even get the very basics right anymore?

Or maybe we are the ones losing our minds?

Maybe Spurs did take on Tottenham in a behind closed doors exhibition match that none of us were aware of?

Maybe Andre Villas-Boas decided it was the only way all of them could get playing time over the weekend after splashing over £100million in the summer?

And who knows, maybe Roy Hodgson was the all time top Premier League goal scorer as well?

If we can’t rely on our most trusted sources Sky Sports and the BBC for the correct information, then we just don’t know what to believe any more.
