Tottenham star bullish over Champions League place
After back-to-back defeats against Liverpool and Fulham, as well as losing 4-1 to Inter Milan in the San Siro, the Icelandic midfielder believes Tottenham must concentrate on getting back to their recent good form.
“We just need to pick ourselves up, stay together and perform well,” Sigurdsson said.
“It’s in our hands and we are in a good position to make the Champions League. We showed during the season that we are more than capable.”
With the international break coming up, Sigurdsson also believes the squad can recharge their batteries over the break.
“We have to make sure we are fresh and ready for the next game,” he added.
“We would have liked another game in a few days to make it right, but maybe it’s a good thing because we can go away, reflect on what we have been doing in the last few games and make it right.”
With last season’s failure to make the Champions League, Spurs are determined to make it this time and with just eight games remaining, Spurs are fourth, four points ahead of Arsenal having played a game more.
