Goal.

The German ace only joined Spurs earlier this year, but has found playing time hard to come by under Andre Villas-Boas of late.

Having invested over £100m in his squad, the Portuguese coach has numerous options in every department of his squad, with the attacking midfield area particularly crowded.

Holtby is in direct competition with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela – both of whom were signed for large fees – which has led to rumours that he could move on in search of guaranteed action.

But, the 23-year-old’s agent, Marcus Noack, has poured cold water on claims that his client is ready to leave the Lilywhites.

“Lewis has definitely no intention of leaving Tottenham,” Noack said

“On the contrary, he feels very comfortable at the club and in London. He wants to establish himself further and contribute so the club can reach its goals this season.”

Numerous sides from Germany and Italy have been linked with Holtby’s signature, with Roma believed to be extremely keen.

Tottenham fans, is it good news to hear that Lewis Holtby will be staying?

I think it’s great news that Lewis Holtby says he has no intention of leaving Spurs
he has yet to play at his best regularly but that is not his fault
being in and out of the team does not give him the chance to do so
but now we are without the services of Christian Eriksen for the next couple of months he has the chance providing AVB selects him
on a regular basis and I feel sure that if he’s given the chance Spurs will be a lot better for it
