Emmanuel Adebayor has insisted that he is not looking to leave Tottenham this summer, despite the current managerial uncertainty at the club.

Tim Sherwood – who brought the Togolese ace back in from Andre Villas-Boas imposed exile over the winter – was axed by chairman Daniel Levy earlier in the week, which leaves the north London club once again looking for a new head coach.

Under the guidance of his recently sacked manager, Adebayor showed the sort of form that once made him one of English football’s most feared front-men, ending the campaign having netted 14 goals in 25 outings.

Yet with the hit-man known for being a divisive character, his future has been the subject of some doubt recently with the identity of Spurs’ next manager as of yet unknown.

But the former Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid man says that he is hoping to stay at White Hart Lane:

“I will be a Tottenham player,” he is quoted by The Metro.

“At the moment I have got two years left on my contract. But what happens if I wake up and what has happened to me in the past has happened again?

“What if the chairman called me and if the new manager says about moving me on, what do you want me to do?

“But it is like I said. At the moment I can’t consider going anywhere.”
