Harry Kane says that he wants to repay Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood’s faith in him with more goals between now and the end of the season.

The current Spurs chief has handed the 20-year-old an increased first-team role of late, to which he has responded with strikes against Sunderland and West Brom.

With Roberto Soldado having endured a difficult season, Kane’s presence has been all the more valued, leading to talk that he may have a big future at the club beyond the current campaign.

But for now the youngster is focusing on the final four games of 2013/14 and justifying Sherwood’s choice to give him more playing time:

“It’s good to score an important goal.” He is quoted by the Daily Star.

“It was great to start again, too. I want to give back goals. Hopefully I can keep it up, get another start and another goal next week.

“We’ve four games left and it would be great to get some more starts and more goals between now and the end of the season.”

Kane has been one of Spurs’ most promising young players for some time and made his debut for the club back in 2011 as a teenager before enjoying a series of loan spells in the Football League.
