Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas has stepped up his interest in signing Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko according to The Times.

Spurs are thought to have started discussions over a pre-contract agreement for the summer with the 23-year-old who is wanted by number of clubs from England and all over Europe.

Newcastle United and Arsenal are keen on the French international as well as some of Europe’s big guns from Italy, Spain and Germany.

Sissoko is a real box to box work engine, a trait that has often been a huge success in the Premier League and Spurs seem to be fighting off fierce rivalry to add to their already talented midfield.

The sale of Luka Modric does leave a central midfield spot open at White Hart Lane and the Frenchman may be on course to fill it come May.

Holtby confirmed rest just gossip at this stage. Likely to move on Hudd and Parker will be 33 next year so some forward planning and filling gaps mad by clearing out players no onger considered to meet the new team ethos.

Hudd and Livermore are Championship players, not good enough for Spurs. Parker has one or two seasons left and Carrol s not quite top quality yet.
