Tottenham have launched a late move for Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin, according to reports from The Express.

The Colombian ace has been heavily linked with Manchester United and Chelsea already this window, and was expected to complete a move to Juventus in the past couple of days.

However, his proposed switch to Turin has collapsed, alerting Spurs.

The London club are understood to have submitted an £8.2m offer for the South American, and are hopeful that Inter will cash in on their unsettled star.

But, the Italian giants are rumoured to value their man at close to £15m.

Tim Sherwood is keen to add players that suit his playing style before next week’s deadline, with his current squad full of signings made by Andre Villas-Boas.

Guarin’s bombarding playing style is seen as an ideal fit for the Tottenham coach’s approach, and the sort of arrival that could spark a top four finish.

Should the 27-year-old arrive at White Hart Lane, it could speed up Etienne Capoue’s exit.

The Frenchman – who only arrived at the club over the summer – is wanted by Napoli after a difficult few months in London.
