Tottenham’s sixth-place finish is about right when wage bills are taken into account in the Premier League, but some at the club will feel disappointed that the £100million spent last summer couldn’t produce a title charge or at least a sustained challenge on one of the top four places.

But it doesn’t mean Spurs should look to overhaul their current options. If anything the smart thing to do is build on the many midfielders they do possess and add that extra bit of quality via the market to ensure next season is a positive step forward.

With a new manager yet to be announced and a few players certain to move on, we should be guaranteed to see something different from Spurs in the way of results and overall performances.

The positive is that whoever the new manager is, he will have one or two world class players to build a team around. So with that in mind and the knowledge that Daniel Levy can’t keep himself away from a transfer or two, this is how Spurs’ ‘Dream Midfield’ would look for next season.

Tottenham have quality but lake pace accept for Lennon which is his only attribute and town send who is like a winger version of deforestation. shoots on sight of goal which is frustrating to watch. We need 2 explosive yet creative wingers. maybe also 1 more playmaker to create the killer pass however Erik sen is sufficient.
