Great piece Frankie, but all AVB proved last Thursday was how right H got it the majority of last year. It took AVB virtually playing Harry's players in Harry's formation and system to show him how to win a game that kept both the players and fans happy.
We know AVB was not fully backed by Levy in the summer but once he knew what he had to work with needed to cut his cloth accordingly and adapt his preferred formation and find a system that works with what players he has. If AVB continues to remain stubborn to his chosen system I cant see him being around for the new year unless Levy has plans to back him big time in January, Something he has never done before. Long term expensive option, back AVB and buy the players he needs and wants, Short term cheapest option, sack AVB and bring Harry back. what do you think is more attractive to Danny boy?
We will lose if we play Vert at left back and 4-2-3-1 on Saturday. We don't have anyone to play alongside Sandro in the 2 and as a result will end up defending too deep again. We should play 4-1-3-1-1. Solid spine, defenders defending, Sandro holding, Lennon, Carroll, Bale, Ade, Defoe all with licence to play with a style to make Bill Nick proud. Audere est Facere

IT worked well with Mirabor, but they are not Premier League calibre. That said, last season we played Ade up front with VDV or Defoe in the hole behind the striker. We seem to be using Defoe as the lone striker with Dempsey or Siggy in the hole (both of whom have been pretty much shite). Ade up front with Defoe right behind should satisfy the fans and still allow AVB his preferred formation.
