Poor article. Bale is up in top 5 players in the premiership. To say he is 'occasionally ' good is madness. Occasionally he is unplayable unstoppable. If you were to compare ronaldo to bale. Bale is better at 23 than ronaldo was at 23. Ronaldo was sold for 80million how many years ago. And you think bales worth what.

When you are one of the best negotiators in World football, you don't hamstring yourself by signing away your best players with 1st options or release clauses, in exchange for a couple of exhibition games worth about £3m. It's totally preposterous that Levy would do that. The probable reason behind the commercial tie up with Real was almost certainly a shot across the bows of Barca, who thought they could "do a Fabregas" on Spurs, by creating a fait accompli, and an offer way below market value for Bale. Levy was simply creating a foreign market for Bale, if he eventually has to sell. This would also see off Chelski and both Mancs clubs.

The biggest problem with this story (this 'story' not this 'article') is that it is fundamentally an old and not paticularly dramatic story.

Gareth Bale has been asked on many occasions* about a move to MadBarcaRid, and on each and every occasion said that of course any player would be interested and he might like to try himself there at some undefined time in the future but he is very happy where he is and not looking to move. He could maintain this line for another 2 to 3 years and then mvoe and still only be reaching his peak. And that is, really, all that is going on again here.

*The real issue is that the media are literally obsessed with not allowing 'lesser' clubs like Spurs from building a team and trying to compete - the only teams that have any value to them are the very biggest and wealthiest and they see it as an offront that any other club should ever have any top rated player. It probably reflects their personal beliefs.
