I’m french and i can tell you that Lloris was really pissed to not play straight away and be considered as the n°1.
He said he was assured he’d be no°1 before joining THFC.
From France i can tell you that it was as if Lloris was not welcolmed in his new team(Assou Ekoto almost said on french radio RMC that LLoris was a nobody in UK, and that Friedel was really loved by his teammates,and couldn’t see any reason for lloris to be number one.
And to compare lloris to de gea is not fair. lloris has 42 caps with France and is our captain (De Gea has no cap with Spain…) and he has more than 35 european matches. All in all i think avb made it more difficult for lloris (i’ve never seen Hugo make the mistake he did against maribor…).

Sorry for my English, but i tried to give you a ‘french view’ on Lloris situation.

Of course AVB was right all along.
Right from the outset, some of us were pointing out that Deschamps stuck his sill oar in at a time when Lloris hadn’t even been eligible to play.

Like tryme says, (while getting the wrong end of the stick), he was a new keeper in a new league. Euro keepers almost always struggle at first with the pace, physicality and emphasis on crossing that British football provides.

And, again, some of us were saying this from the beginning, the author is right, there is no furore about the goalkeeping situation at OT. De Gea was shoved straight in, and really struggled. If AVb had shoved Lloris straight in and he had a ngihtmare, the press would have been all over him for that, and Desschamps, no doubt, would have been bemoaning AVB needlessly destroying Lloris’s confidence by shoving him in too soon. United had little choise, really, with de Gea, as Fergie didn’t seem to trust the other keepers at the club, and had failed to replace van der Saar properly – and yet the rpess didn’t really get on his back for that. Spurs didn’t face any such conundrum, as we had a perfectly competent and fit keeper anyway, with some pretty decend back-up if needed. There was absolutely no need to shove Lloris straight into the firing line, and it just demonstrates the anti-AVB agenda from the press, and that Deschamps can be a bit of a buffoon at times.

everyone BAR DIDIER knew all along lloris was there to replace brad.

you cant just chuck in a goalie who barely speaks the langauge with a new defence and say there you go mate off you go..

it takes a few games to build confidence and get to know your squad.

idiot
