when spurs qualified for the champions league they had a team and a bench that gave them replacements that were quality now the quality options have gone and not been replaced getting back in the champions league will be so difficult that worrying about the money they might make is secondry to where we are going to get the quality to give us the options needed to challenge at the top i also wonder where all the money went unless there was some big bonuses pAid for getting there it seems to me we are paying out much more money but to players with less ability than the ones we had before luckily next season the tv revenue goes up by 20 mill or so , so we can get some more mediochre rubbish in lets hope damio happens this window .coys

While all of this is true, the Spurs wage bill is more that a little deceptive. Currently their are a number of players on the books who are on very high wages but play (almost) no part in the first team and who will surely be gone by summer, if not before.

Gomes, Bentley, Jenas and Gallas are the obvious ones, but some Spurs fans would also suggest a few more that will soon be rightly "off the books". And it's not as though they will just be replaced by someone else on similar wages. These are players who have played little or no part in the season so far and are unlikely to need replacement.
