Currently their are a number of players on the books who are on very high wages but play (almost) no part in the first team and who will surely be gone by summer, if not before.

Gomes, Bentley, Jenas and Gallas are the obvious ones, but some Spurs fans would also suggest a few more that will soon be rightly “off the books”. And it’s not as though they will just be replaced by someone else on similar wages. These are players who have played little or no part in the season so far and are unlikely to need replacement.
