The Mirror.

The Nigerian striker drove to QPR’s Loftus Road Stadium in a bid to force through a late move, even thought there was no formal agreement between the Premier League rivals.

Despite rumours that he would be severely punished by the Baggies, it appears the club’s hierarchy are unwilling to further damage their relationship with the 31-year-old.

Odemwingie is insistent that he had permission to travel to London to discuss a deal, with negotiations between West Brom and QPR on running.

He was dropped for their following league encounter, but reportedly avoided punishment upon his return to training on Monday.

However, it is unclear as to what sort of reception he has received form the squad, who will likely be disappointed by his public comments and actions.

Odemwingie was keen to switch to QPR to join Harry Redknapp’s team in their quest to avoid relegation.

The Super Hoops reportedly offered to double his wage in a bid to entice him to the capital, a move which appeared to have won over the player.

‘Arry is said to have offered the Midlanders winger Junior Hoilett as part of the move, but a deal could not be reached.
