London rivals West Ham and Tottenham could go head-to-head in the race for Newcastle’s wantaway midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa, according to London24.

The 27-year-old is expected to leave St. James’ Park this summer after falling out with manager Alan Pardew towards the end of last season.

And it has been reported the Frenchman has turned down a mega-money move to Qatar in order to remain in Europe, sparking increased interest from the likes of West Ham and Tottenham.

Ben Arfa’s agent Michel Ouazine told the French media: “This is false [a move to Qatar.]

“He remains on a one-year contract at Newcastle and Hatem has the intention to continue to play in Europe.”

Monaco, Everton and Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly interested in the midfielder, who could be available for as little as £5million this summer.
