West Ham have lost their appeal to the FA to have Andy Carroll’s red card against Swansea rescinded, leaving the Hammers without their record signing for up to four games.

Carroll was adjudged to have to deliberately struck Swans defender Chico Flores in the head in the Hammers’ 2-0 Premier League victory at Upton Park, although replays show that there was minimal contact and that Howard Webb was perhaps swayed by the Spaniard’s theatrical reaction to the incident.

But the FA have today backed Webb’s decision to show the Englad striker the red card, leaving West Ham fans in a rage on Twitter and worried about what it means for their upcoming fixtures, while Andy Carroll himself tweeted his anger at the decision…

Webb was never going to admit he got it wrong for starters, this decision has set back football. But then again what do you expect FA

The F.A are awful, can someone there have sense and internally re-appeal the appeal?

Momentum from getting Cheeto off his back caused the swinging arm perhaps? Enough reasonable doubt for the ex-cop to rescind…
