Ghanaian defender Samuel Inkoom says that West Ham are interested in signing him this summer.

The 24-year-old right-back has long been talked about as one of African football’s top talents, but his career has stagnated in recent years.

Although owned by Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Inkoom is currently on loan in Greece with Platanias.

His long-term future with his parent club looks to be unclear, with his contract due to expire at the end of this year.

A summer move appears likely, and Inkoom says that West Ham are one of five teams to have approached him already:

“I don’t know where I will play football next season,” he is quoted by Sky Sports.

“I am focused right now on my national team and the World Cup in Brazil, but I have five offers so far. Olympiakos, West Ham and Lyon are among them.

“I do not want to talk more now, my mind is now looking at the World Cup, who knows in football no one knows.

“Anything can happen in football and I’m ready to go anywhere.”

West Ham are said to be set for a big summer of transfer activity, with Sam Allardyce keen to strengthen his squad after coming for serious criticism from some sections of the Irons’ support.

Inkoom has 44 international caps and is likely to represent Ghana at the World Cup this year.
