West Ham’s illustrious academy, often referred to as simply ‘The Academy’, is commonly regarded as one of the most successful and consistent youth systems in English football.

The East London side produced 1966 World Cup heroes Bobby Moore, Martin Peters and Geoff Hurst, and in more recent years their glowing alumni has included Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Jermain Defoe and Glenn Johnson – many of whom, upon leaving Upton Park, have gone on to win Premier League and Champions League titles, and feature heavily for the England national team.
