West Ham’s striker search has led them to Polish forward Piotr Parzyszek, the man currently top scorer in the Dutch second division with De Graafschap, according to the Express.

The 20-year-old came close to joining Benfica earlier in the transfer window, only for the move to fall through at the last moment.

Now it seems Sam Allardyce is ready to make his move for a striker who has managed 23 goals in 42 appearances for De Graafschap.

The Hammers boss recently added reinforcements in the form of Italain duo Antonio Nocerino and Marco Borriello, although a bid for Leeds United striker Ross McCormack was rejected.

Leeds boss Brian McDermott has been assured by Allardyce that the Hammers have turned their attentions to other targets, and will not be making a renewed bid for the Scot.

And that could see Allardyce make the move to bring Parzyszek to east London, although there could still be complications.

Parzyszek’s move to Benfica collapsed after De Graafschap demanded that the forward return on loan for the remainder of the season, and the Hammers are concerned the Dutch club may make a similar demand, should they make an offer.
