West Ham are exploring the possibility of bringing Manchester United’s Wilfried Zaha to east London, according to MailOnline.

The 21-year-old is yet to find out whether he has a future at Old Trafford after new boss Louis Van Gaal admitted he only saw him as a striker, which would mean competition with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie and Danny Welbeck next term.

That means he could be given the green light to leave the club, with West Ham interested in taking him on a season-long loan with a view to buy next summer.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is in the market for an attack-minded player after the club’s owners told him to start playing a more attractive style of football this season or risk the sack.

With club-record signing and lone-striker Andy Carroll sidelined for four-months, Allardyce will have no excuses but to enforce a more attacking approach.

And after former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o turned down a contract offer from West Ham, Allardyce has now turned his attentions to Zaha and will be keen to bring the England U21 star to Upton Park before the start of the season in two weeks’ time.

Meanwhile, it is also being reported that Allardyce has made enquires about HNK Rijeka striker Andrej Kramaric, who netted an impressive 21 goals in just 23 league games in Croatia last term.
