Queens Park Rangers’ big money winter signing Loic Remy may face a lengthy spell on the sidelines after tearing his groin.
The Hoops spent over £8million on the former Marseille striker just two weeks ago not to mention his astronomical wages but the French international did score on his debut away at West Ham.
However it seems his season is in doubt as he tore a groin muscle in training on Thursday morning and missed yesterday’s draw at home with Norwich City.
Rangers are desperate to get him back as soon as possible as their resources up front are down to their bare bones with Bobby Zamora only just coming back from injury and DJ Campbell and Jay Bothroyd both expected to leave when the loan window opens on Thursday.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp revealed the extent of the injury after their failure to pick up three points in a must win home game with the Canaries yesterday in which Adel Taarabt missed a penalty.
“He tore a groin muscle in training on Thursday and I have no idea at the moment how long he will be out,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“It was in the last minute of training, and he just struck a ball and felt it go.”
