Ex Rangers midfielder Barry Ferguson believes that bookies favourite David Moyes will snub a move to Celtic Park and will wait for another opportunity to manage in the Premier League:

The 38 year old sees a move for the ex-Everton, Manchester United & Real Sociedad manager as unrealistic, and believes that the Hoops should look elsewhere for their new boss.

Writing in his column for the Daily Record, he said:

"For me, Moyes is a non-starter. He has his eyes on a return to the English Premier League and I am convinced he’ll be offered a job down there at some point over the summer. People say his reputation took a battering at Manchester United and, yes, it wasn’t a happy experience for him."

"But we’re talking about a top class manager here who did an incredible job at Everton and who is now ready to return to the biggest league in the world."

Ferguson believes there is only one man who Celtic should consider for the job, and that is former boss Neil Lennon:

"They need a new manager in and they need him yesterday."

"Lennon has made it clear he’s ready and willing to take the call and if I was Dermot Desmond I’d be on the phone to him this weekend. In fact, I’d have him signed up for next season before the middle of next week so that he can start to make the key decisions for next season."

The Northern Irishman was sacked by English Championship side Bolton Wanderers in March but has already stated he would like a return to Celtic Park.

Along with Moyes and Lennon, Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill and Republic of Ireland assistant boss Roy Keane are said to be the frontrunners for the job to replace Ronny Deila at the end of the season.
