With social media a dominant part of sport nowadays, it does not take much for transfer rumours to intensify.

On Tuesday, Sky Sports reported that the Hammers are not ruling out making a move for Rooney if United allow him to leave the club at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old’s future is expected to be a major talking point in the summer due to his failure to cement a regular starting spot under Jose Mourinho this season.

Rooney, who was heavily linked with a switch to the Chinese Super League in the winter transfer window, has started just nine Premier League games in the 2016-17 campaign.

While the Hammers’ rumoured interest in the England captain seems slightly left-field, it appears that the player’s family have done little to quieten the speculation.

Well, it is not the responsibility of a child to quell the rumours, but Rooney’s eldest son Kai would have raised some eyebrows when he was spotted wearing a West Ham kit.

In a video uploaded to Instagram by Rooney’s wife Coleen, seven-year-old Kai could be seen donning a replica goalkeeper kit with Adrian’s name emblazoned on the back.

The point of the clip was to show baby Kit attempting to walk, but much of the focus has been on his brother’s attire.
