Ahead of their vital north London derby against Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they will play all of their home matches at Wembley in the 2017/18 season as their new stadium continues to be built on the site of their current home.

The news means that the clash between the arch-rivals this weekend will officially be the final one at White Hart Lane, and it will certainly give both teams increased incentive to take all three points.

Spurs already need a win in order to keep the pressure up on Premier League leaders Chelsea – who they sit four points adrift of going into the weekend’s fixtures – while the Gunners require the victory to maintain their hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Arsenal will certainly be revelling in the fact that Tottenham have won just one of their last nine matches Wembley which will give them confidence that they will finish above their neighbours next term as they look set to end the campaign behind them for the first time since 1995.

Gunners supporters were quick to have their say on the developments via social media, with many happy at the news considering Spurs’ poor record at England’s national stadium and their own impressive one.
