As we discussed yesterday, Craig Gordon has this week put pen to paper on a deal at Celtic that will keep him at the club until 2020.

That news was confirmed by the Hoops this morning.

After speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea in January, it appears any questions of him leaving the club in the near future have been put to bed.

It's a welcome boost for supporters in a big week for the club, with Gordon set to play a crucial role in Sunday's match-up with arch rivals Rangers.

The Scotland international has kept an incredible 23 clean sheets this season, improving parts of his game significantly under Brendan Rodgers despite being the grand old age of 34.

Despite an initial challenge for his number one spot earlier in the season from Dorus de Vries, Gordon has worked hard to prove he is still the main man at Celtic Park.

Now Celtic fans can look forward to many more years of excellent shot stopping.

They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the contract renewal...
