Everton announced today that Spanish winger Gerard Deulofeu had joined AC Milan on loan until the end of the season.

The 22 year old has had a mixed spell at Everton, at times looking like a fine talent and at other times looking very much off the Premier League pace.

A move away from Goodison Park is of little surprise given that he hasn't featured much under Ronald Koeman since the manager came to the club last summer. The attacker has made just four Premier League starts this season with the rest of his league appearances coming from the bench.

Those appearances haven't been very effective and he hasn't directly contributed to a single goal either by scoring himself or with an assist. As noted, he has looked off the pace at times and fitness has been an issue for many Everton supporters.

A loan to AC Milan represents the chance to find some form in a talented side and who knows, there's always the chance he could return to Everton and be a success.
