A number of Hull City fans have been left angry and upset by the club's sale of Jake Livermore to West Bromwich Albion.

The Tigers announced on Friday morning that the 27-year-old has moved to The Hawthorns for an undisclosed fee.

The Telegraph reports that the Baggies paid £10m to clinch the signature of Livermore, who has penned a four-and-a-half-year contract.

The Englishman departs the KCOM Stadium after a two-and-a-half-year spell, in which he helped the club achieve Premier League promotion via the Championship playoffs last season.

The move to sell has surprised fans considering that Livermore has started all but one top-flight game this season.

His only substitute appearance came last weekend in a 3-1 triumph over Bournemouth, which was Marco Silva's first league game since becoming Hull manager.

Livermore's switch to West Brom has caused some supporters to lash out at the owners, in particular vice-chairman Ehab Allam, who recently told the Yorkshire Post that the Tigers have never been a selling club.

Disgruntled fans took to Twitter to express their unhappiness in Livermore's departure.
