As reported by The Daily Mail, Memphis Depay flew to France on Wednesday night to complete his transfer to Lyon from Manchester United for a reported fee of £21.6m.

On the face of it, it seems like fantastic business from Man United. Getting north of £20m for a player who hasn't made a single Premier League start this season is a massive boost to Mourinho's transfer kitty.

It follows a similar big money move for Morgan Schneiderlin to Everton, another £20m+ player that was struggled to get a game at Old Trafford.

United have now managed to recoup most of the money they paid for both players and can re-invest it into the squad either this month or in the summer.

The Mourinho revolution at Old Trafford is well and truly underway. With summer signings performing well and big deals done for fringe players, the Portuguese manager is well placed to make more strategic moves in the transfer market.

According to The Mail, Depay's transfer will be completed on Thursday after a medical in Lyon.
