Estadio Anoeta | Built in 1993
Opened in 1993, the 32,000 seater stadium is the home of cash-strapped Real Sociedad. It is a wonderful looking ground with sloping rooves and all in proportion. The stadium is owned by the city council but has been subject to multiple redevelopment plans. In 2004, President Jose Luiz Astiazaran proposed a project that would increase capacity to 42,000, remove the athletics track, and add hotels and shops to the area but it was rejected. In 2007, a plan to buy the stadium was put forward but this was also rejected.
Tickets / Where to sit
From www.tixnet.co.uk, tickets behind the goal cost 80 euros and a seat alongside the pitch costs 120 euros. For a cheaper ticket, visit the ground. Tickets will be available on match day for most games.

Getting to Estadio Anoeta
Train
The train service is good in the area and trains are available right up to the stadium. Get the train to Anoetako Geralekua and you will be opposite the stadium.

Parking
Parking is available and if you are driving it's best to stay at the hotel, Club Hockey Hielo Txuri Urdin because that has parking spaces. Other than that parking is ambitious so it's best to use the trains.

Where to eat
There are two restaurants very close to the stadium. At the back of the ground is Bar La Venta de Curro which offers various Basque dishes while on the other side of the stadium is Txuri, pefectly located at the exit of the ground.
Where to stay
From the stadium, there is a choice where to stay. If you don't want to travel far from the stadium, Hotel Anoeta is the place to go. It is on the same road as the stadium and right next to Anoeta, with smart, air conditioned rooms with bright decor it is highly recommended. For a stay closer to the city, try the Hotel Silken Amara Plaza that offers parking and wi-fi for £77 a night.

There is a club shop at Estadio Anoeta. There you can buy the obvious bits and bobs to kit yourself out as a true Sociedad fan. The club does not have a website so things can't be bought online.
