Signal Iduna Park | Built in 1974

The Westfalenstadion was built in 1974 with the most recent renovation in 2006. It is officially named Signal Iduna Park after the sponsoring insurance company and is one of the largest stadia in Europe with a maximum capacity of over 80,000. The north stand holds 37,000 thousand standing supporters during domestic games, which greatly contributes to the stadium's overall capacity. During European games, however, the stadium is reduced in capacity as UEFA do not allow standing terraces.

Borussia Dortmund Songs

A common song at Borussia Dortmund now is 'You'll Never Walk Alone':

When you walk through a storm

Hold your head up high

And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm

Is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on through the wind

Walk on through the rain

Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone

When you walk through a storm

Hold your head up high

And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm

Is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on through the wind

Walk on through the rain

Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk

You'll never walk

You'll never walk alone.
