Turf Moor | Built in 1883

One of the longest ground occupations in football league history, Turf Moor has been home to Burnley F.C since 1883. Since partial redevelopment in the mid 1990’s, half the ground (the Hargreaves & Mcilroy stands) looks obviously newer then there opposites.

Away fans are housed in the covered David Fishwick Stand which accommodates 4,125 supporters. Burnley are a well supported club and a good atmosphere is often found at Turf Moor, however some reports of intimidating behaviour towards away supporters has been known to occur on the way to the ground.

Tickets / Where to sit

Home fans pay between £23 and £19, which is pretty reasonable.

Away adult fan tickets will set you back £20.

Under 16’s and over 60’s pay around half, while students pay around £16.

Getting to Turf Moor

Train

There are two stations within walking distance of Turf Moor, Burnley Central and Burnley Manchester Road. Central station is a 20 minute walk to the ground and is mostly served by local train services. Manchester Road is a 15 minute walk and is served by the faster express service.

Car

Leave the M6 at Junction 29 and onto the M65. Leave the M65 at Junction 10 and follow signs for Towneley Hall. This road will eventually lead you to the ground.

Parking

Parking is available at the cricket ground next to the stadium, costing £3. Otherwise, street parking is a possibility.

Where to drink

Recommended watering holes for away supporters, (I’m assuming locals don’t need us to tell them the good spots) include The Bridge Pub, just 10 minutes from the ground, The Talbot, The Woodman Inn (Todmorden Road) and The Queen Victoria.

For some slightly different, why not try the cricket club next to the ground. Friendly, cheap and doubles as the car park to the ground.

Away fans are generally advised to stay away from Yorkshire Street, as it is largely restricted to home supporters.

Where to eat

The Bridge Bier Huis pub offers a good variety of pub food and is always a popular choice for away fans.

Where to stay

Travelodge Burnley Hotel, 0870 984 6125, is one to try.

Burnley Songs

"In our Burnley town

in our Burnley town

we are passionate and support the best

our fans are better than all the rest

in our Burnley town

in our Burnley town

we go to the Turf to support our team

we will fight on and achieve our dream

in our Burnley town."

"Risin' up, back up the league

had a bad time, took our chances

went the distance, now we're back on our feet

just a team and our will to survive

so many times, it happens too fast

you change your passion for glory

don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past

you must fight just to keep them alive

it's the mighty Burnley, in claret and blue

risin' up to the challenge of our rival

and the last known survivor stalks victory on match night

and we are giving our best all the time' we are in this togetherrrr."
