Villa Park | Built in 1987

The famous Holte End is the best place to sit in terms of atmosphere. Built for the start of the 1994/95 season, the two-tiered stand holds 13,500 people. You'll get the best view from the three-tiered Trinity Road Stand - the largest in Villa Park. There's room for 3,000 away supporters in a section of the Doug Ellis stand.

Tickets / Where to sit

For Season Ticket holders you should already know where you’re sitting and what to expect but no doubt you’ll be keen to read on anyhow so please do.

For those more casual fans looking for Aston Villa tickets however, below is a comprehensive guide to Villa Park.

Getting to Villa Park

Train

Straightforward. From Birmingham New Street head to either Aston or Witton station, Witton is nearer to the away end and is only a few minutes walk from the ground. Turn left out of the station exit and continue to a roundabout where you turn left into Witton Lane and the entrance to the away section is on this road at the first corner of the ground that you reach.

Alternatively, Aston station is a ten minute walk away from the ground.

Extra trains are laid on to the ground on matchdays.

Car

Stick the address in your Sat Nav: Villa Park, Trinity Road, Birmingham, West Midlands, B6 6HE.

Parking

Mostly street parking yet the local residents’ only parking scheme now in place in the streets around the Witton Island area has restricted the availability.

Where to drink

Ok, no alcohol in the away end so do the honours beforehand if need be. The Cap & Gown (formerly The Witton Arms) is only two minutes from the ground and accommodates both home and away so much so that there are separate sections and separate entrance fees. Harriers on Broadway is another option, further away from ground but there are more parking options available outside of the pub. Both establishments keep the punters up to date with all the football news as kick off approaches, and shows lots of football on TV as the results come in after the game.

Where to eat

There's a decent selection of pies and pasties inside Villa Park - the pick of the bunch being the Shire Foods Chicken Balti Pie, reasonably priced at £2.50. No alcohol is allowed in the away end.

Aston Villa Songs

General

We are the pride of the Midlands, The lions of Brum, We hate Small Heath, the Wolves and West Brom, Coventry City on their way down, And we will be there when the Villa are in Town.

Long time ago in Birmingham Eighteen Hundred and Seventy-four By the light of a gas lamp This famous club was born Hark now hear the Villa sing A club was born that day Who's name will live for evermore Aston V I L L A

Rivals

When I was just a little boy, I asked my Mother, what should I be, Should I be Villa, should I be Blues, here's what she said to me Get your father's gun, and shoot all the City scum, and support the pride of Brum, Aston Villa.

As I walked out on the steps of the Holte End As I walked on to the Holte end one Day I spied a poor Bluenose all cut up in ribbons Cut up in Ribbons and shit on they say

I said to that Blues fan what have they done to you And why have they treated you in such a way He said sir my crime is to go up the Holte end And say that the Villa were old men of Grey

The Holte End daint like it they came up to fight it They kicked in his knackers and kicked in his head Now that poor Blues fan is pushing up daisies Pushing up daises because he is now dead

So let that be a lesson to all of you Blues fans who come to the Villa to sing and to pray , you say one word against our Aston Villa, And they will be the last words you f**king say. The Streets Of Laredo - Johnny Cash
