The Foxes host Premier League side Fulham, with a Round 5 place on offer for the victor.
Whilst City go into the match just 3 points adrift of Championship leaders Burnley, Pearson’s opponents are left already struggling to climb away from the Premier League relegation zone. But the 50-year-old doesn’t want his players to think of Fulham as a struggling side:
“I’ve been fortunate enough to play in big cup ties and know how interesting they are to players.” said Pearson to Sky Sports.
“It’s a great opportunity and when, as a Championship side, you get the chance to play against a Premier League outfit, I think the players will look at it as a good opportunity to see exactly where they’re at themselves. They always make for interesting games and what we’ve got to do is make sure it’s not an easy ride for them.”
“Regardless of their league position at the moment we are very aware of their strengths and weaknesses, and we’ll do everything we can to come away with a win, but we’re going to have to play well.”
Leicester haven’t been in the Premier League for 10 years, when they finished 18th at the end of the 2003-04 season. But with their Championship form so strong, the Foxes have an opportunity to test their strength against Premier League opposition.
