Penalty app 5

League Cup sponsor and credit card provider Capital One has released an innovative fully 3D, turn-based Penalty Shootout app which allows the football banter to continue long after the end of each match.

The Capital One Penalty Shootout lets players take to the pitch to take turns taking and saving penalties on their handheld device. The turn-based system lets players shoot at their own pace in turn; with their opponent then receiving a push notification through Facebook that enables them to respond by attempting to save the penalty.

The free app uses Facebook Connect to allow players to compete against their friends and an in-built messaging system ensures the banter is fast and fun when the competition heats up. Players can also challenge random players or play against the computer in Practice, a multi-purpose ‘training mode’.

Jaidev Janardana, Chief Marketing Officer at Capital One, said: “Whether at home, in the pub or travelling home from a match, our brand new Capital One Penalty Shootout app means that supporters are never far away from the beautiful game!”

The free app is available now on iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and can be downloaded from the App Store http://bit.ly/c1psprios or Google Play http://bit.ly/c1psprand
