The glamour of the Cup. The drama of the Cup. The romance of the Cup. Why are these phrases usually reserved for the FA Cup?

This season’s Capital One Cup has produced some of the most outstanding games of the season, as well as some of the most outrageous results. We’ve seen games this year with more goals scored in extra time than seen in most Premier League matches; games between giants and minnows with the two sides going goal-for-goal; and more than a couple of last-gasp winners to seal some shock results.

The limelight in March may be reserved for the Premier League’s elite as usual, but it’s time for the likes of Chris O’Grady, James Collins, Jake Buxton and Bobby Grant to take centre stage…

That Reading v Arsenal game was quality, but papered over the cracks at Arsenal! Why won’t Wenger play Walcott down the middle?
