Another who has been superb for the Hammers this season, Mohamed Diame is proving to be an inspired bit of business since his move from Wigan Athletic during the summer.
His performances in a claret and blue shirt have been superb, not least his barnstorming 45 minutes against Chelsea during his side’s 3-1 win. He goes into the January transfer window as hot property, which marks an interesting turnaround to the summer, in which there was hardly que snaking out the back of the DW Stadium for his services.
But under Big Sam, Diame has raised his game up onto another level, turning his appearances in the Premier League from fleeting glimpses of skill to all round displays of midfield dynamism.
