While Michu may well be taking all the goalscoring plaudits at Swansea City, the renaissance that Wayne Routledge has undergone under the tutelage of Michael Laudrup has been nothing short of sensational.
The former Crystal Palace man enjoyed a decent season under Brendan Rodgers last term but since Laudrup arrived to replace him in the summer, Routledge has really pushed on and managed to found a higher gear.
While the former England U21 international has always possessed the talent to prosper in this league, his career was quickly becoming one of wasted opportunity, But with a manager seemingly happy to trust Routledge in the side, he’s finally began to flourish, scoring five goals and setting up a further three in 20 appearances this term.
Pacey, direct and now finally developing a touch of guile to his game, too, Routledge has been outstanding for the Swans so far this season.
