The agent of Lucas Perez has confirmed that his client wants to leave Arsenal this summer following a lack of opportunities, Metro quotes him as stating.

What's the word?

After arriving at Arsenal last summer, Spanish ace Lucas Perez has struggled to earn regular first-team opportunities, despite the fact the former Deportivo La Coruna man has impressed in the rare openings that have come his way.

With aspirations of making Spain's World Cup squad in 2018, Perez is keen to earn more playing time and he may end up leaving at the end of the season- with his agent quoted by Metro as stating he wants to leave 'at any cost'.

Just why Arsene Wenger has continued to overlook his summer recruit isn't clear but the pair may both be gone this summer, with speculation continuing over the future of both of them.

What was said?

Quoted by MetroLucas Perez' agent Rodrigo Fernandez Llovelle said:

‘If Lucas leaves London – and he will leave because he’s had no chance with [Arsene] Wenger – he wants to go and play for a big club like Arsenal. Milan is a great club and he likes them very much, even if we’ve never talked with the Rossoneri hierarchy.'

‘Look, the truth is that Lucas wants to leave at all costs and is not happy at Arsenal, he hasn’t settled and hasn’t had a chance to play and show what he can do. No matter who is the manager in the future, we want to go. The player must have the chance to play.’

Will he go?

If Lucas Perez continues to earn limited opportunities, you'd bet he will consider his future this summer. However, with the possibility of a new manager incoming there is a chance for Perez to save his career in North London.

Despite the situation though, Perez' agent has denied ever speaking to Italian media, where the quotes originate from, which raises questions on the situation. Either way though, Perez will certainly be seeking more opportunities in the latter stages of the season.

Arsenal fans will expect to see Perez feature in the FA Cup though, with the Gunners having a favourable passage ahead of them into the semi-finals.
