Manchester City will have their work cut out if they are to land Thomas Lemar from Monaco this summer as a wealth of European giants are also keen on his services, according to reports from TalkSport.

What's the word?

Pep Guardiola's quest to bring the very best of young talent to the Etihad Stadium has already seen him sign the likes of Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus and John Stones to the club and it seems Monaco ace Thomas Lemar is next on his short-list.

The 21-year-old has excelled for the Ligue 1 leaders this season, scoring eight goals across all competitions- including the winner in a 2-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League, a big reason behind the Lilywhites early exit from Europe's elite competition.

Valued at 10 times the £3m figure Monaco paid for Lemar's services in 2015, TalkSport cites L'Equipe as reporting that Manchester City are keen on securing his signature.

Who else wants him?

Manchester City won't find things easy in their quest to land Thomas Lemar as Italian giants Juventus, Spanish aces Atletico Madrid and German champions Bayern Munich are all keen on the player's services.

Opportunities of first-team football will likely be crucial in the push for Lemar's services and Manchester City may find it difficult to offer that, due to the performances of Raheem Sterling this season and the growing ability of Leroy Sane.

Of the interested parties, it would be fair to assume that Bayern Munich may provide Lemar with the most chances as both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are in the twilight years of their career.
